Personal Insight
Faith, hope, and love, underlined by the justice God showed through the birth, life, teaching, death and life of Jesus of Nazareth, underpin how we try to live our lives.
We have lived and worked with and amongst people of many different faiths and networked with many Christian denominations.
We understand that the word church, as mentioned in the New Testament, refers to the people who follow the way of Jesus and not to denominations, structures or buildings. This, therefore, helps give us focus and freedom to support and encourage many expressions of ‘church’ as they engage in personal or community-wide development and growth.
We also take on the words of Jesus when he said that the most important commandments are to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbour as yourself. The actual words are, “The first [commandment] is, ‘Hear, O Israel: the Lord our God, the Lord is one;you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbour as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
This passage was written in a letter the disciple Mark wrote. It highlights that the second most important commandment refers to unselfishly loving your neighbour and seeking the best for them. It refers to acting in a manner that will benefit others.
Therefore, we believe in demonstrating integrity and expressing compassion to all, irrespective of circumstances, and without distinction of age, disability, gender, sexual orientation, race or political or religious and faith-based opinions.
Our aim is that by following the way of Jesus, we can connect with all peoples and, by the values of Jesus, assist and help anyone who wishes to become the fullness of what they were made to be.
